The Sciencetech 500-200 and 550-200 Power Supplies require this mandatory 500-IG external igniter for starting arc lamps. This igniter is connected in series to the Power Supply and automatically generates a 20kV spike to ignite the arc lamp. The igniter can detect the presence of an arc lamp and will automatically ignite it once the power supply has been turned on.
This is the igniter recommended for the 200-100 & 201-100 Series Arc Lamp Housings.

The 550-200 series of DC power supplies are typically used to deliver power for Xenon and Mercury-Xenon lamps up to 150W. They can drive lamps with a maximum output voltage of 25V and a current of 1 - 10A. The output is adjusted manually (Support for control via a 0 - 1V program voltage to enable computer control / optical feedback can be added. Ask you Sciencetech Sales Representative). A digital LCD display, located on the front panel, indicates current, voltage and power. These power supplies are fully adjustable from 5 - 10A and offer protected output against short circuit or abnormal operating conditions.

Sciencetech deuterium power supplies produce the high stability, high output, and long service life required for deuterium lamps for spectrophotometry.
A deuterium lamp uses a tungsten filament and anode placed on opposite sides of a nickel box structure designed to produce an optimal output spectrum. Unlike an incandescent bulb, the filament is not the source of light in deuterium lamps.
Instead an arc is created from the filament to the anode, a similar process to arc lamps. Because the filament must be very hot before it can operate, it is heated for approximately twenty seconds before use.
The discharge process produces its own heat, and so the heater is turned down after discharge begins. Although firing voltages are typically 600 volts, once the arc is created voltages drop to around 60-100 volts.

This power supply has been specifically designed for the highly stable 75W Hg lamp used inside the new SPS-300 Terahertz FTIR Spectrometer. The '500-75ST' is an adjustable, current regulated, DC Power Supply. It is meant to power up a low pressure, long arc Hg lamp by Heraeus Nobelight Model 75ST. However, it can be used by many other applications which require a steady, low noise current regulated Power Supply of up to 1A, and approximately 100W.
