The AM1.5D simulates the terrestrial solar spectrum on the ground when the sun is at a zenith angle of 48.2°. It includes only direct light from the sun, and not the diffuse light that is scattered by the atmosphere. As a result, this filter simulates the direct radiation which reaches the ground. It is a removable filter that can be inserted into the filter holder of any Sciencetech Solar Simulator Filter Holder.

This is a large air mass filter designed specifically for Sciencetech's line of Highly Collimated Flash solar simulators. This filter allows the system to operate with Class A spectral matching.

Please note that Sciencetech is capable of creating filters that operate at better than Class A specifications as customer projects and additional cost. Please speak with your authorized Sciencetech technical sales staff member if you believe your system would benefit from better than Class A spectral matching.





Highly Collimated Flash Air Mass AM1.5DX Filter (400-1700nm)

This filter is designed to be used with Sciencetech's Highly Collimated Flash systems. It offers Spectral Matching in a range far greater than required by any international standards association (ASTM, IEC, or JIS). The main area of improvement is the region from 1,100nm to 1,700nm (the Near IR), and allows better confidence in spectral matching for systems that have considerable IR response (unlike Silicon, which most standards were designed for, and has no response past 1,100nm). Please note that since the region past 1,100nm is not covered by any standards, it can't technically be declared to be "Class A" (since classifications mean adherence to standards). However, we can extrapolate the standards into this region. Correspondingly, we can also do better than Class A for this region (or any other spectral region of interest) as a custom project. Please speak with your authorized Sciencetech technical sales staff member to discuss if you require better than Class A spectral matching.
